Staz has published several middle-grade and young-adult novels, including Mrs. Mercutrode, Almost Normal, The Last Drop, Ginger, and The Burning Tree. She is also the author of The Weirder the Better, a children's novel published at Black Heron Press under her full name. In addition to writing, Staz works part-time for Friends of the Third World, a non-profit organization that sells fair trade products globally. She lives in Fort Wayne with her husband and a Corgi-Sheltie dog named Ginger.
